UFC Fight Night 48: Bisping vs Le – Betting Odds and Picks

By MMA Fights

UFC Fight Night 48This coming weekend is a solid one for UFC fans with 2 UFC Fight Night events planned.  UFC Fight Night 48 will be taking place in Macau, China and the headliner is the popular and hated Michael Bisping battling with home town favourite Cung Le.  This card has one other very notable fight with Dong Hyun Kim battling Tyron Woodley in a high profile Welterwight tilt that could help either fighter move back into the title picture in that division.

This past Saturday was UFC Fight Night 47 in Bangor and I got back to my winning ways with this card, going 2 for 3 and hitting a decent underdog with Tim Boetsch.  Check out my picks here.

2014 Record: 38-19 for +18.74 units.

Michael Bisping vs Cung Le

Bisping lost his returning fight after his eye injury to Tim Kennedy this past April and he just didn’t really look like himself in that fight.  Kennedy is a very strong opponent though, but I have to think that his eye injury is still lingering and that he might not have perfect vision.  If this is the case it has to be extremely difficult to fight at 100%.  Cung Le has been out of the game since November of 2012 and the man who is making most of his money from acting these days isn’t getting any younger (he’s 42 now).  That said he continues to impress inside the Octagon.  He beat Rich Franklin via KO in his last fight and before that he outlasted Patrick Cote winning by decision.

Both of these fighters may still have some rust on them, but for the price I like Cung Le in this fight.  Either man could win via a knockout, but it could also go to decision so I’m just betting Le straight up.

Take Cung Le to win +265 @ 5Dimes.

Dong Hyun Kim vs Tyron Woodley

This is the fight that actually matters in the UFC landscape and I’m somewhat surprised it’s not the main event.  I guess it’s the popularity that Bisping has built, combined with Le’s popularity from both his UFC career and his acting career.  Anyway’s this is the fight I’m most excited for.  We have Dong Hyun Kim who will be swinging for the fences and Woodley looking to counter punch with his explosiveness.  Check out this video for a great breakdown of Tyron Woodley’s fighting style and how Rory McDonald beat him:

I personally don’t think that Kim will have the same patience as MacDonald and I’m expecting Woodley to get the best of him. Kim hasn’t beaten anyone of Woodley’s stature in the UFC. He has yet to beat a fighter currently ranked in the top 15 of the UFC Welterweight division and his two chances have resulted in knockout losses to both Carlos Condit and Demian Maia. I’m thinking there will be a third KO when he wanders into this level of opponent. Woodley should be able to find a counter punch at some point in this fight to put Kim to sleep.

Take Woodley inside distance +235 @ 5Dimes.eu.
