UFC Fight Night Houston Free Betting Picks

By MMA Fights

It was a pretty rough betting week for me last weekend with Fight Night Denver, so I’m looking for a big bounce back event for Fight Night Houston this Saturday.  The main event on this card is a featherweight tilt between Dennis Bermudez and Chan Jung Sung, with the Korean Zombie making his return from the army and fighting for the first time since 2013.

There are some other interesting fights on this card with some decent names including Abel Trujillo, Ovince Saint Preux, Jessica Andrade among others.  Below I will give my picks for a few of the fights on the card.

As always I’m going to be using the odds from BetOnline.ag for this article.  Here’s our full BetOnline review for you to check out if you’re interested in opening an account and placing some bets.

Dennis Bermudez vs Chan Sung Jung

Chan Sung Jung has not fought since August of 2013 when he fought for the featherweight championship and was defeated by Jose Aldo via fourth round TKO.  This is a very tough match up to return to because when he’s at his best Bermudez is one of the top fighters in the division, but the fact that this is a 5 round fight I think will benefit the Korean Zombie.

Bermudez has never been in a five round fight in his career and I think there is a real chance he could fade if this one goes into the late rounds.  Bermudez lost in the third round against Jeremy Stephens via TKO in his last loss after winning the fight over the first two rounds.

If Chan Sung Jung can avoid a stoppage (which he should be able to do if he doesn’t have horrible ring rust) then I think he could catch Bermudez late in this fight.  Don’t sleep on the Korean Zombie.  He was a contender before his military service and he could come back and make a dent on this division right away.

Play: Korean Zombie +165

James Vick vs Abel Trujillo

I like Trujillo in this match up.  His only losses in the UFC have come to Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov, who are fighting for interim belt coming up, which shows he beats guys that are lower level.

As long as Trujillo pushes the pace and doesn’t allow Vick to use his reach he should be able to close the distance and make this fight very tough for James Vick.

Play: Trujillo -110

Marcel Fortuna vs Anthony Hamilton

People are going to remember the kimura submission that Francis Ngannou finished Hamilton with back in December, but let’s not forget that Ngannou is an absolute beast.  In this fight Hamilton will be the significantly bigger man fighting against a fighter moving up from 205 pounds on short notice to make his UFC debut.  Hamilton showed he has KO power when he knocked out Damian Grabowski back in July.  Hamilton should be the bigger man and as long as he doesn’t get caught he will win this fight.

Play: Hamilton -175

Jessica Andrade vs Angela Hill

This is a very tough fight for Hill to return to the UFC for.  Andrade has looked amazing since dropping down to 115 pounds, defeating Penne and Calderwood via stoppage in her two fights at this weightclass.  I think Andrade will overwhelm Hill and finish this fight early.

Hill looked great in Invicta, but I think Andrade is the next title contender in the strawweight division and she will show it in this fight.

Play: Andrade -450
