UFC Fight Night Nashville – Free Betting Picks

By MMA Fights

UFC Kansas City was a great card last weekend.  I went 2-1 with my picks, but taking all the favourites in the big three fights I broke even.  Johnson, Rose and Whittaker all looked like beasts and I could see Rose and Whittaker both being UFC champs in the future.

This week the UFC heads to Nashville for a fight night card that has some pretty solid fights.  The main event is a little bit strange and lopsided, but Iaquinta vs Sanchez, Ellenberger vs Perry, Lauzon vs Ray, Dodson vs Wineland and OSP vs De Lima all make for a great main card.

As always I’m going to be using the odds from BetOnline.ag for this article.  Here’s our full BetOnline review for you to check out if you’re interested in opening an account and placing some bets.

Cub Swanson vs Artem Lobov

This is one of the most lopsided non-title main events I’ve seen on a UFC card.  Cub Swanson is ranked #4 in the featherweight division and is coming off a very impressive win over top prospect Doo Ho Choi.  On the other side, Lobov is not ranked and is coming off two decision wins over bottom level UFC fighters.  The only reason this fight was made and is the event is because of Lobov’s association with Conor McGregor.

Swanson should have no trouble with Lobov because he is better in every aspect and has never lost to someone who is not an elite fighter in the UFC or WEC in his entire career.

Put this one in the bank.

Play: Swanson -650

Marcos Rogerio De Lima vs Ovince Saint Preux

The OSP hype train has hit a wall and people are starting to realize that Saint Preux was never that good.  He is a solid athlete and that will get you far in MMA, but just being an athlete will not take you to the top of the mountain.  He’s dropping down in competition to fight De Lima in this one, but I still think he adds another loss to his record to make it four in a row.  OSP simply did not look good at all in his last two performances and I expect that to continue.

Play: De Lima +132

Dustin Ortiz vs Brandon Moreno

Ortiz put on one of his best performances in his last fight (a split decision win) over Zach Makovsky.  Ortiz is the real deal and I expect him to work his way back into contention in the Bantamweight division.  I believe he is better in every aspect in this fight and I do expect him to put an end to Brandon Moreno’s run in the UFC.  Moreno got a quick submission as a big underdog against Louis Smolka in his debut and then won a split decision over Ryan Benoit in his last time out.  That said, Dustin Ortiz is a big step up and I think Moreno will be exposed as an average (at best) UFC fighter in this one.

Play: Ortiz -205

Other Plays

  • Alexis Davis -275
  • Matt Schnell +100
